Your source for illuminated art
Elevating lamps to an art form.
The Genesis
hat becomes evident when practicing shallow relief carving is the importance of the light source. Usually a single-source, low angled light works best. This kind of illumination brings light and shadow to every surface of the carving; and every stroke of the file, chisel or scraper on the wood produces a changed surface which can be seen by a corresponding change in the nature of the light that reflects off of it.
Featuring meticulous
hand carved detailing.
The form became a fusion between the craft of carving
and the function of lighting.
is a small Sonoma County, California shop dedicated to crafting beautiful one of a kind table lamps. With skill and dedication we produce meticulous hand-carved details and elevate the craft of lamp making to an art form. This is your source for unique artisan heirloom-quality lighting. Where the fusion between the craft of carving and the function of lighting exists in every piece.
So it follows that, if the carving is to be seen as it was created, then a similar light source is essential. When I first began, I was carving panels for furniture but before long it was suggested that lighting could be an integral part of the carving and the idea for the "illuminated art" of lamps was born.
